Jayne Mansfield was an American actress who has acted in The Sheriff of the Fractured Jaw (1958) and in Takes a thief (1960). In the 1960’s, though she did continue to act in small roles on film and stage. Jayne was born Vera Jane Palmer in 1933-04-19, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA. She was the only child of Herbert William Palmer (1904–1936), who was of German and English ancestry, and Vera Jeffrey Palmer (1903–2000), of English origin. She got married three times. Around 1951, she worked as a nude model for art classes, sold books and served as a receptionist to earn her livelihood. Her first major performance was for Broadway play ‘Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?’ In 1957 she got Gold Globe in the category of New Star of the Year-Actress for her performance in the film ‘The Wayward Bus’. She died on June 29, 1967 at the age of 34 in Eastern New Orleans, United States. The cause of Jayne’s death was extensive brain trauma which she sustained in an traffic accident on the US highway 90.
